At WH Farms Co., we believe in the power of hemp to transform communities, and we are proud to be a leading player in the industry. Our Founder and CEO, Q. Nicole Vanderhorst, recently spoke with The Charlotte Post about her vision for the company and the impact she hopes to make.
Nicole's journey to becoming a CBDPreneur began with her own personal experience with hemp. After struggling with anxiety and chronic pain for years, she turned to CBD as a natural solution. She was amazed by the results and began to research the plant more deeply.
As she learned more about the potential of hemp, she realized that it could be a powerful tool for economic development, particularly in communities of color. Historically, Black and Brown communities have been disproportionately impacted by the War on Drugs, which criminalized MJ and hemp. Nicole saw an opportunity to help reverse some of that harm by building a business that centered around hemp.
Today, WH Farms Co. is a vertically integrated hemp company that produces high-quality CBD products and also provides services to other hemp farmers. We grow our own hemp on our farm in North Carolina, and we also partner with other farmers across the country. Our goal is to help build a sustainable hemp industry that benefits everyone involved, from farmers to consumers.
One of the key ways we are working to achieve this goal is through our “Seed to Shelf” approach. We oversee every step of the process, from planting the seeds to extracting the CBD oil to creating the final products. This ensures that we can maintain the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Another important aspect of our work is Community Engagement. We believe that the success of our business is tied to the success of the communities where we operate. That’s why we are committed to creating jobs and supporting local businesses. We also work with organizations that are doing important work in the areas of social justice and equity.
